India, Nepal, & BhutanDon with Susanta Patra

Susanta Patra was the very first national missionary in the Global Fellowship family. His lone vision to reach West Bengal with Christ has grown into the dynamic ministry of National Fellowship with over 700 paid and volunteer workers. Together they are reaching this vast area with the gospel. National Fellowship sees over 6,000 make decisions for Christ, and over 2,000 publicly profess their faith yearly! They also have over 10,000 people involved in Bible correspondence courses.

National Fellowship has now targeted all 16 northern states of India with the gospel (not just West Bengal). That's 720,000,000 people! Within this area there is, on average, one evangelical Christian to every 100,000 people. Workers with National Fellowship are also working in Nepal and Bhutan, and training a similar ministry in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh

Asish Bowl with Gospel for Bangladesh and his team of 25 workers are reaching out to plant churches in the unreached areas of Bangladesh. Susanta Patra has traveled from India to train these workers and they are experiencing staggering success. Along with church planting, Gospel for Bangladesh endeavors to meet the physical needs of their rural villagers through health care, low cost housing, education, and emergency relief.

Slovenia

Jozef and Nada Casar founded a church in Slovenia around their kitchen table in 1993. The church has grown to over 50 faithful followers. These are all new believers in a land where few are willing to give their hearts to Jesus. Jozef left his job (and nice income) in 1998 to devote himself full-time to the ministry.

Jozef and Nada are among the few in the country who a have been effective in evangelism over the last nine years. Jozef trains believers in evangelism and church planting and sends them out to plant more churches in this difficult nation of 2 plus million, where only 700 people truly put their faith in Jesus.  In 2004, Joze and Nada were joined by their daughter Mirjam (pronounced Miriam) upon her graduation from Azusa Pacific University in California.

 Mexico

Jorge Vazquez pastors churches in Zorillo and Ajusco, Baja California. He is burdened to reach the migrant workers from Oaxaca (Wah-ha-kah) in southern Mexico who travel yearly to work the fields of Ajusco. Jorge's co-worker has planted a church in Oaxaca. Jorge plans to begin more churches among these needy people.

 Thailand & Burma

In Chaing Rai, Thailand, Pastor Songsak Pairumpuengsakul (isn't that a great last name!) is ministering to the Akha people through the Akha Evangelical Church of Thailand (AECT). With 16 workers in Burma and 21 in Thailand, AECT is spreading the gospel among the Akha people all along the border between Burma and Thailand.

Most of these evangelists are young men in their early 20's! Their success is amazing and some Akha villages are completely won for Christ. AECT also runs a fantastic Christian orphanage in Chaing Rai that ministers to thirty children.

 Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka, Rev. Ranjan Fernando heads a growing ministry of 60 church planters and volunteer workers. The United Christian Fellowship of Sri Lanka works all over the small island nation to plant churches and meet the needs of children.

In addition to planting churches, they work to build disciples of Christ and improve their living conditions by offering practical training, and opportunities like: sewing machines and classes, proper toilets, freshwater wells, and a street children's ministry. Rev. Fernando and his co-workers are experiencing steady growth in this civil war-torn nation.

West Africa

Boat on river

Global Fellowship supports evangelists and church planters in Liberia, Senegal, and Mali. This work is revitalized outgrowth of the work we had the opportunity to begin 17 years ago while ministering in Liberia. There is potential for this work to spread to thirteen West African nations. Islam in these areas is nominal and the evangelistic results have been encouraging.

 Children's Ministries

Global Fellowship is blessed to have the opportunity to work on behalf of children around the world. We sponsor 5 different orphanages in Thailand, India, and Sri Lanka. We are involved in schools and nursery programs in Sri Lanka, and have sponsored the building and maintaining of a school for missionary children and as an outreach to local Buddhist children in India. What a joy to see these young lives encouraged by the gospel.

Global Fellowship offers short-term missionary opportunities that change lives. Raising financial support is only part of the encouragement our brothers and sisters need. Visiting these missionaries and encouraging them with training, medical help, and technical support is a vital part of our ministry. Visit Getting Involved to learn more about how you can help.
