Elmurat has the heart to pull people out of the same darkness he has experienced under the veil of Islam. He grew up in a typical Kyrgyzstani Muslim family and felt lost, lonely, and his closest relationships struggled.
In 2001, he heard about Jesus Christ for the first time. When he came to the Lord, his life changed forever. He had never experienced peace, joy, and love like he did when meeting our Savior. His parents noticed the difference in him, and he shared that He had given his life to Isa Masih (Jesus Christ), and his father kicked him out of the house. His pastor found out that his father kicked him out, and he sent him to Bible seminary in Moscow for a year. While in seminary, he met his wife, Gulmira, from Uzbekistan (a neighboring country). Elmurat and Gulmira married a year after seminary and moved to the southern part of Kyrgyzstan to be missionaries.
Unfortunately, statistically, a majority of the 6.5 million people of Kyrgyzstan will not have the same opportunity to hear the name of Jesus as Elmurat did. The Borkoshevs want their people to come into the loving knowledge of Christ, and they are actively planting house churches all over the south.
Since kicking Elmurat out of the house, both of his parents have given their lives to the Lord and follow him. Please prayerfully consider partnering with their work in Kyrgyzstan and financially supporting their family of six.
