Daniel and Elisabet were both born in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain) and have a girl and four boys.
They are heirs to a rich legacy of Christian servants: grandparents who were active in the underground church during Franco’s dictatorship, and parents who have made a difference for Christ in their generation through church planting and Christian literature publication.
Their vision is two-fold.
On the one hand, they are committed to starting ekklesia communities through relational evangelism, and teaching. They also wish to publish a hymnal in Catalan and provide training seminars for the edification and encouragement of existing churches. Since the Valcárcels are already steeped in the language and culture, they are eager to get straight to work with various ministries in the challenging post-Christian Western culture of Catalonia. Their Bible teaching and music ministry is rooted in a passion to promote a robust understanding of the Bible and to foster biblical unity among believers as one Body of Christ.
Their second priority is to engage with, encourage and equip the church in North Africa. They will be partnering with veteran cross-cultural workers who have been travelling to these countries for several decades. Since Christians in North Africa meet for worship on Fridays, Daniel and Elisabet plan to organize short trips (on Friday and Saturday) once every two months to address the urgent needs in the region. Their desire is to help Christ-followers thrive in their faith by preaching, teaching, delivering materials, and coordinating conferences and partnership opportunities.
